Privacy Policy
Effective July 18, 2026 · Applies to the Walter app for Android (package app.walter.vault)
This policy explains how Walter collects, uses, stores and deletes information. Walter uses online accounts and cloud sync so your profile and vault data can be available across sessions and devices. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, authentication provider, account identifier and sign-in information needed to provide your account. If you sign in with Google, Google provides Walter with basic account information such as your email address and profile details. Walter also supports email-and-password accounts.
- Profile and settings: information you choose to provide, such as your display name, wage or salary figure, profile photo, preferences and analytics choice.
- Vault data: the impulses you save, including item names, prices, categories, reasons, timers, outcomes, savings totals, levels and achievements.
- Limited analytics data: privacy-minimized product-usage events and technical information used to understand app reliability and feature use. Walter does not enable PostHog session replay, autocapture or GeoIP enrichment.
How we use information
- To create and secure your account through Google OAuth or email and password
- To provide the app, sync your profile and vault data, restore your data and calculate app features such as savings and achievements
- To maintain, troubleshoot and improve Walter using limited analytics when you have not opted out
- To respond to support, privacy and account-deletion requests
Services that process data
Walter uses Supabase for authentication and cloud storage of account, profile and vault data. Walter uses PostHog for privacy-minimized analytics. These service providers process data on our behalf to provide their services. Data may be processed in countries other than your own and is subject to the providers' security and privacy safeguards.
Analytics controls
You can opt out of PostHog analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy & analytics. Session replay, autocapture and GeoIP enrichment are disabled for Walter. PostHog is not used for advertising.
Permissions the app uses
- Notifications: to remind you locally when a vault timer opens. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Vibration: for haptic feedback on taps.
- Photo library (optional): only if you choose to set a profile photo. Walter accesses the image you select.
Account and data deletion
You can delete your Walter account and its associated data in either of these ways:
- In the app: go to Settings → Privacy & analytics → Delete account & data and confirm deletion.
- Outside the app: email nokolabs.dev@gmail.com from the address associated with your Walter account and request account deletion. We may ask you to verify that you control the account.
Deletion removes your Walter account and associated profile and vault data from active Supabase systems. Limited records may remain temporarily in encrypted backups or where retention is required for security, fraud prevention or legal compliance, and are removed or anonymized according to applicable retention schedules. Analytics information already aggregated or de-identified may not be linkable to your account and may be retained.
Data retention and security
We keep account, profile and vault data while your account is active and until it is deleted, subject to the limited exceptions described above. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children
Walter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Walter or applicable requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date above.
